About

Welcome to my online neighbourhood

With my daughter at 3yrs old, being and unlikely dance mum

A place I created for families to do some local good. Too many bad stories headline the news. I know there’s oodles of good out there, it’s time for proof.

I’m Jess, your local spotter looking for uplifting tales of locals like you and me, creating a real sense of community.

My top notch PI skills will be put to the test, that’s why I’m relying on you to bring me the best.

  • Heartwarming stories that make you believe in humanity.
  • Acts of kindness that bring a smile to your frown
  • Community creations that share the love around
  • Actions that improved your mood even when you are down

Making the world a better place should never be a bore, and I’m certain kids will join in if they don’t think it’s a chore.

As a mother of one, my child won’t engage if it’s not fun for families. I aim to pack the Local Good with real chats, kindness projects, challenges and activities.

It’s no easy feat when Youtube, Tik Tok and Instagram are competing in the newsfeed. Why not play them at their own game and make the world a better place, kind of the same.

Whilst the Local Good is free from airbrushed filters, memes  and it will never be like a perfect dream, it is unlike anything you have seen.

Family life is messy, at times very mundane. With the Local Good I hope to connect parents to kids through the art of play.

The social good is like the elephant that’s too big to eat whole, so why not chunk it down into tiny local pieces making it easy to swallow.

Over the years I’ve dabbled in community fundraisers, Advocacy and I’m an activist at heart. But truly believe making a difference in the world, in the family is where it starts.

Everyday life in between, dance, school runs, weekend footy games and creative arts. The small actions that shift the needle on the social good, the solution is The Local Good.

A family blog, shining the spotlight on local heroes of our time, packed with ideas, personal stories and the occasional rhyme.

Making the world a better place should never be a bore, and I’m certain kids will join in if they don’t think it’s a chore.

My daughter always looking for adventure and fun. This is day out with my little family at the local waterfalls
